Rosella Dawn Pettrey, age 20, of Temperance, Michigan, suddenly went to be with the Lord on her birthday, February 7, 2018.   She was born to Rob and Michelle (Smith) Pettrey on February 7, 1998.

If you were one of the many blessed people to know Rosella, you knew her for her quick wit, wonderful puns, beautiful singing voice, and fearless adventurous spirit.  She brought laughter and joy to all with her humor and silliness.  Rosella was creative and often blessed others with her custom Rosebud Creation cards and notes of encouragement.  She loved to sing and hummed or sang continually.  Her favorite sports were volleyball, hockey, and gymnastics.  Whether she was riding a unicycle, performing in musicals, or spending time with her six brothers, precious nephews or niece, she lived every moment of her life to the fullest.

Her favorite place on earth was Camp Barakel, where she created countless memories as a lifeguard, camp counselor, and close friend to so many.  Her dedication and love for her Lord Jesus Christ compelled her to serve Him by serving others.  Rosella (whose name means “bringer of light and love”) will forever be remembered as a bright light in the lives of those she touched and loved.

Although Rosella loved the Bible in its entirety, one of her favorite verses was Revelation 4:11: “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they existed and were created.”  She also loved Psalm 119:50: “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.”

Rosella is survived by her parents and six brothers: Jonathan of Massillon, OH; Joshua (Sarah) of Toledo, OH; Zachary (Jessica) of Grand Rapids, MI; Micah (Bethany) of Maumee, OH: Matthew (Kyndra Braden) of Monroe, MI, and Ethan of Temperance, MI.  Also surviving are her nephews and niece whom she adored and who adored her: Nicholas, Hannah, Jayden, and Ezra.  Aunts, uncles, cousins, and her grandmother will all miss her dearly.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Michael W. Pawlak Funeral home, 1640 Smith Road (at Jackman) , Temperance, MI, on Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. to reminisce, grieve, and support one another.

Also, a memorial service with luncheon to follow will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Road, Toledo, OH.  If you desire, please bring a memory of Rosella or picture of you with her to include in the “I am Loved” scrapbook being compiled for her family.  There will also be an opportunity to verbally share your memories of her during the luncheon.

The family would like to thank everyone for their tremendous and  overwhelming outpouring of love and support during these difficult days.
